Re-Hung Cross Stitch Wall Hanging

I was not happy with the way I hung this wall hanging yesterday so we re-did it today. The rod and rings just was not country enough for me. It hangs on a narrow wall above our TV. I just needed more of me up there with it. I am very happy with the way it looks now.

Cross Stitch Wall Hanging is all Complete

I have my cross stitch all pieced and layered and pinned ready for quilting. I have not hand quilted in too many years to remember. But I am going to do it.

It is all finished and hanging on my wall. I used a curtain rod and curtain ring clips to hang it. I saw that idea on a blog but I do not remember who's blog sorry. I think it will hang well and can be taken down easily if I want to change it in the future. The color is a little off in this picture.

Working on Cross Stitch Wall Hanging

I am trying to get started quilting my cross stitch wall hanging and am having a little trouble with the quilting stitches since I have not quilted in MANY years. My fingers do not want to do what I want them to do. I have tried the Perle Cotton and did not like how my stitches were coming out so I tore it out and went to quilting thread and they are a little better. I think I need a lot of practice before I do the bed quilt I have in mind to do. I have tied all the quilts I have done for years.

Last night's Snow

This is the snow coming down last night in front of our house. This is the only picture that really showed the snow because it was too dark for my camera to get the more distant pictures of the snow. This is our security light that is right in front of our home. If you click on the picture you can see it better.

Snow again

This is what is falling here again today and I am very tired of it. I am more than ready for spring.

Daughter's Birthday Gift

This is what I stitched for my daughter (Terry's) birthday gift. I could not post it till I gave it to her this afternoon because she is a blogger too (Terry's Treasures). Her birthday is not for 2 weeks but I did not know if I would see her before then. It was my first big stitching since I started again. It is an iron on transfer.

Amish Weekend Fabric

Some fabric I bought in Amish Country over the weekend. I only went to 4 quilt or fabric stores. I really could have picked up a whole lot more but was trying very hard to hold back on what I bought. I got mainly colors to add to my muted colection. Tea cup fabric is for a tea bag holder for a friend.

This I think will be the center block on a quilt for my bed and pillow shams. If you knew me you would know this is perfect for me.

Cross Stitch Borders Finished

I finally got the borders on my cross stitch. It really is square, I was standing off to the side so I did not put a shadow on it. It was a real stinker for a non-quilter to match all those corners. Next step is quilting and binding. What color (Blue or green) for the binding? I have plenty of both fabrics.

New Stitchery for my PIF

This a stitchery that I am planning to put on one of my PIF's as soon as someone signs up. It is on a white background but in this picture it looks cream. If you are interested just go back a couple of posts for the rules.

Button Tote

This is the button tote I just finished. I was inspired by the button fabric a friend gave me. I did the stitching and attached it to the button fabric and then added the rick-rack. Then I attached it to the front of the tote and sewed on the buttons. I put in the handles and the lining and it was done. I love the colors of this tote.
This is a close up of the stitching.

Bookmarks Finished

Here are the 5 bookmarks I made for our 40 days of prayer for Lent. I stitched the white area. Then I attached the purple fabric to the cards that came with my plastic sleeve bookmarks. I then attatched the white stitched oval to the purple fabric and slid them into the plastic sleeve. Then all I had to do was add my fuzzy yarn.
This is a closer view of the stitching.

40 Days of Prayer Bookmarks

Our church does a 40 days of prayer for Lent. We get 5 peoples names and pray for them during Lent. Then you are suppose to call, visit or send them a card to let them know you were praying for them. I always make a card on my computer and a card stock bookmark, but this year I decided to stitch something on the bottom of the fabric I am using. My daughter found plastic bookmark sleeves which is what I am going to put the fabric with the stitching on into. I am not sure how it will work but I will let you know as soon as I figure it out.

Some ideas work some do not.

Gail Pan BOM #2

I just finished the stitching on Gail's #2 block. I still have to find a green to go with my red fabric from block #1 before I can add the sashing. I really enjoyed doing the stitching.

Finished quilt

I am just finishing knotting the quilt. I am not sure if you would call it a quilt or a comforter because it is not quilted.

Here is the view of the finished product. Now hubby can stay warm in our great Ohio winters.

I just finished the lost cross stitch. I am thinking of making it into a wall hanging and I have placed some fabrics with it. I need ideas from you as to what looks best or if you think it would be better framed. My stash is not very big now and what I do have really does not go with this piece. HELP!

Quilt pinned together.

I just got back from the church where we pinned Dale's quilt together. I can not get down on the floor to lay it out and I do not have any place big enough to do it here at home. We pulled 3 large tables together and layed it out and pinned every other 5" square. Now I can tie it here at home and do the binding. We have done it this way for many years. I do not remember how many quilts have been laid out at the church between my daughter and myself over the years.

Willowberry Block #2 Bird Bath

I got block 2 of the Willowberry Design BOM last night. I worked on it for awhile watching TV. I woke up early this morning and could not go back to sleep so I got up and started stitching. It is now finished and I love it.

Top is finished

I finished the top to my hubby's quilt last night. Now I just have to get it pinned together and tied. Nothing fancy.
