Another Sign of Spring

I do not know the name of these pretty purple flowers but I love them. They are very small but come up right after the Crocus are about finished blooming.

  1. G'day, Tudy ~ We always called them bluebells. I love them, I have some white ones also.

We didn't get the snow this time but boy!! was the wind & rain nasty & COLD here! I'm done, I happy danced all winter, my dreams came true with the history making snow levels!!

    Have a beautiful Palm Sunday!

  2. We have always referred to them as scilla. They turn up in peoples lawns in the Spring. They have a tendency to spread all around.
Or they could be wood hyacinth. Happy Spring.
I have Tom Thumb Daffodils blooming.

  4. Hi Tudy! Those lovely blue flowers are indeed Scilla or Scilla siberica to be exact. They are sometimes called, Wood Squill or Spring Beauty. If you are interested in learning more about them, I wrote a post last year on my 'Art of Fibre' blog. If you go to my 'Crafts and Stuff' blog, just click on the peach photo on my sidebar and it will take you there. Then go to the labels and click on 'bulbs'. You'll have to scroll down. It is the first one which I posted.
