Cool Off for the Birds and New Tote

This last week it was in the mid 90's all week and very humid. We have 3 bird baths and they were all being used daily. These birds were there at the hottest part of the day.

This is my latest tote bag. This is the first Grandmother's Flower Garden block I ever did. I think it came out okay. Terry helped me in the choice of the bag fabric. I had several choices and could not make up my mind so I ask her. I think it is a very good choice. I had to add the button just because I love buttons.

Here is a close up of the block. I decided after much trying of different thing to just hand applique it in place after I fused it down to the bag. I did not want the edges to come loose.

  1. The tote looks great! We've even had birds in the waterfall with the heat so bad this past week!

  2. That's a lovely totebag, Tudy. One of these days I want to try that block as well, it looks great on a bag. What a popular spot your birdbath was and very much appreciated, I'm sure!

  9. Oh, those birds need to thank you by not pooping on your car...they look so happy. My husband always says that the birds sing to other people but they poop on his car....so funny, his dad used to say that as well.

    Love your bag.

  10. Beautiful bag! Love the button. I have a bird bath too. Yesterday it was in constant use. Robins and sparrows, finches and chickadees, black birds and cardinals. They all came to use the bird bath. Usually they take turns, but yesterday there were several different species in the bath at one time.
