Spring Left But a Great Amish Overnight

Spring is hiding right now because the snow is back. We are in for a mix of weather in the next 24 hours. It could get pretty bad. Just have to wait and see what we get.

Hubby took this picture this morning at sunrise.

We spent a overnight in amish country on Friday. Our couples group from church do it every year at this time. We have supper at the Der Dutchman in Walnut Creek and stay at the Inn at Walnut Creek. They have a game room that we go to after supper and play games. It is great fun. Then we meet for breakfast the next morning and then go on our own way to visit Amish country. This is a new place for us to visit. It is Yoder's Bargin Barn outside of Fredricksburg. Not too hard to find. Has a little bit of everything. We will go back the next time we are down that way.

Clothes hanging from the barn to the house in Charm across from the Truck Patch.

This is a new building going up outside of Sugarcreek. It is the Age of Steam Roundhouse. If you do a search for that name you can find out all about it. I do not know when it will be finished. The following pictures are from there.

This is the back side of the where we stayed. Our room was at the far right. My pictures got out of order somehow.

View from the back windows at Der Dutchman.

  2. Ohhh, I love Der Dutchman. We use to frequent one in London, Ohio and the maple iced cream sticks were always my favorite...
I lived in Ashland for five years after college and use to love observing the Amish in that area.
thanks for bringing about such lovely memories...
