Sunrise and First Bloom

Sunrise this morning. Beautiful pink clouds.

These are the first spring blooms I have and they just bloomed overnight. Maybe spring is not that far away.

Kitty and Spring Bulbs Coming Up

Here is my latest creation. I found this pattern on the internet and had the yarn to make a cute yellow kitty. It was a very quick project done while hubby had his therapy. I made a round pillow this morning to put in it so the stuffing would not come out between the crocheted stitches. I had everything in my stash of craft supplies.

Some of my spring bulbs are coming up through the leaves that did not get cleaned out last fall because of hubby's back/leg problems. I hope they do not get their noses nipped by snow and real cold weather. We could still get some nasty weather through March.

Lavender Tote and Zipper Bag

I am trying to feel more spring like. I love this lavender fabric and have had it in my stash for a long time. I made the tote and put white rick-rack around the top because I used it on the zipper bag below. It also has a hook on the inside for keys or whatever.

The pictures do not look like the same color but they are. The bottom color is more true. I made the embroidered piece a long time ago and had no idea what I was going to do with it. I actually made 3 different color of them. Here is a zippered bag to go with the tote. I love rick-rack and buttons so that is what I used on it.

Table Topper

I have been trying to decide how I wanted to do this table topper for awhile now. Today I just started squaring up the leaf section and cutting the other fabrics and batting. I only quilted by machine on the white blocks. My machine was giving me a little trouble so I stopped there. I hand stitched the back around to the front for the binding. I am pleased with the way it came out. These blocks were cut out many years ago by Terry and had just never been appliqued down on the white. I have been doing several different colors of leaves but these are my favorite. The dark teal color are in the leaves and so is the binding rust color.

Small Blanket

This is a piece of flannel I had in my stash and I decided to put an edge on it for a blanket. I blanket stitched around it which took just over 3 hours and then crocheted the edging which only took about an hour and a half. I love the way it came out. Something to work on while hubby had therapy.

This and That

This is an ear bud holder I made for a friend. I saw it on a blog but do not remember which one. Sorry I can't link it up for you. It was not hard to make.

This is what we woke up to again today. More snow and bitter cold. Warmer temps are coming this week but not real warm just or normal for Feb.

The other day this showed up in front of our house. They have been re-doing the water shut-offs in our town and it was our turn. We knew it was coming because there were paint markings on the driveway and lawn.

Hubby was supervising the job. They had to dig down a ways as you can tell by the man in the hole. Click for a better view.

Shopping For Me!

I had gift cards from Christmas I had not used and JoAnn's had a good sale on these things plus 20% off for seniors day. I have been wanting a larger mat for a long time, this one is double the size of my old one, and a 12 1/2 inch square ruler. The rotory cutter blade was not on sale nor was the fusible interfacing but I needed them. I am a happy sewer today.

Blanket Finished

Here is my completed crocheted blanket. I folded it in half and then overlapped it so you could see all the different rows of colors. It is so pretty I really do not want to give it away but I know the receiver will love it. Many hours this weekend and during the super bowl helped get it finished. Last stitches done this afternoon while hubby had therapy. Now onto another project of some kind.

New Tote Bag

This is a tote I have been thinking about making for awhile now. So today I got it cut out and after lunch I sewed it together. It is from a panel I had given to me. I love the flowers. It makes me feel happy and ready for Spring. It has a pocket and hook for keys or whatever inside.

Weather Surprise and House Blocks

This is the chance of rain the weather man said we could get this morning. Surprise the front did not go as far south as they thought it would and Mother Nature dropped this on us. A lot of it is gone this afternoon but it sure was a surprise.


Here are my orange house blocks for Terry's BOM. Not too bad for a person who does not do points meeting each other.

Blanket, Sunrise and Snow.

This is a blanket I started crocheting awhile back and put it down. I started on it again when hubby started therapy. I love all the different baby yarn colors. Just using up scraps. It is 40 inches wide and about 45 inches long at this point.

This was the sunrise I think on Monday morning.

This was a soft and fluffy snow on Sunday.
