Baby Robin and Tape Measures

If you can see the yellow in the center of this picture you will see a baby Robin's mouth wide open.  Hubby was able to get this much of a picture but no more because of all the leaves on our Trumpet Vine.

Here are the last 5 tape measures I finished.  I need to get a few more because I have had several people ask me if I would sell them one.  So for $7.50 each plus shipping I will mail one or more to you. I think they would make great little gifts for sewing friends.  I have enjoyed making them.

Tape Measures and Flowers

I have just made 3 more covered tape measures.  I think they will go to the church bazaar in the fall or as gifts.  I think they are very pretty for any sewer or stitcher.  I know I will leave mine out where I can see it.

Here are the flowers blooming right now.  My flowers are suffering because we need rain badly.  It is also going to get very hot here in the next few days and stay that way for at least a week.  Not my kind of weather.

Playing with a New Pattern I Found

I found a pattern to cover a sewing tape measure.  I did not have the right yarn so I used #10 Knit Cro Sheen.  I really liked the way the body of the pattern came out but had a problem with the flower part.  So I gathered the center of the green so it was snug.  I then made up a flower of my own and glued it to the top of the tape measure after I had sewn a shank button to the center of the flower.  Next time I will put the button to retract the tape on the non-flower side.  I think it will make it much easier to close.

This picture came out a little blurry but shows the tape part.  I love it. I think I will have to get more tape measures and make a few more.

Baby Afghans

I found out back in May our friends daughter was do to have twins this fall.  I decided to make white afghans with what ever color they turned out to be.  Yesterday our friend told me they were a boy and a girl.  Last night I got the trim color on them.  I know she will like them.

They are pretty big.  I liked the purple for a little girl rather than pink and the blue has a white thread through it.  I am pleased to have them finished.

Lots of sit down time with my breathing issues.  Cooler weather today so our windows are open for the fresh air.

2 Finishes

Here are 2 small finishes I have gotten done while trying to get this asthma in check.  Our hot humid weather is not helping right now.  I do have air conditioning which makes it easier.  I think both will be gifts.  This is a shallow bowl which could be used to hold your keys as you come home or anything else.  It is made of cotton yarn.

This is a pint canning jar that I covered.  The crocheted lid is held in place with double sticky tape.

It's Finished

This is the afghan Terry bought the yarn for but I made.  She was going to put the blocks together but since I have had so much sit down time with the asthma issue I put it together for her.  She loved it.

It was an easy hexie to make.  I also love the muted colors.  Very easy colors to work with.

Latest Project

This is my latest crochet project.  It is being done for Terry.  She got the yarn and I am crocheting it.  I have not been able to stand and cut fabric because of my back and leg pain from all the coughing I have been doing.  So crocheting is my craft of choice right now.  I have a few all finished.  These need the last row done on them.  There are 71 in this pile.  It will keep me busy for awhile.

Our son gave hubby his old truck because he got a newer one.

Went to get my new glasses today and the clouds were so beautiful.

These are the flowers blooming today.

I have not been on much lately because I am fighting an allergy induced asthma,  I am trying to get the meds adjusted.  I have never had allergies before in my life and this is really hard to get over.  I hope everyone has a good week.
