New Recipe

We had baked pork chops for supper so I tried a new recipe. It is corn casserole. 1 can of corn, 1 can of creamed corn. 1 box Jiffy Corn bread/muffin mix, and 1 stick melted butter. Mix together and pour into a 9" square pan that you sprayed with Pam. Bake at 350 deg. for 1 hour. It was so good.

This and That

I made another infinity scarf in navy blue.  They are simple to crochet and only take one ball of the yarn I use.

I put the zipper in this purchased tote for a friend.

Yesterday while going out to get our hair done these trees looked so pretty with their limbs covered in snow and the sun shining on them.  I had to take a picture.

7 more doll quilts for the Giving Doll.

This is the fabric I chose for my next quilt which is the snowball sew along with Terry.  There are a lot of ways to do this block but we changed it up a little.  I decided to use my Jo Ann's gift cards and go with just 2 fabrics.  These 2 called my name.  I know I will go back to making scrappy quilts but for this one I wanted just 2 fabrics.  There will be a lot of half square triangles too.  I can't wait to start it but I have a few other things I need to do first.

Charming Star Quilt

I just finished my Charming Star Quilt sew along with Terry.  I do need to make a label for it yet before I wash it.  That is my next project.  I have leftover star and 9 patch blocks which will become a throw for my rocking chair when I get around to it.  I did tie it and brought the backing to the front for the binding.  It is for me so that is the way I decided to do it.

Quilt Top

Here is my finished Charming Star Quilt top.  Somehow it came out bigger than I figured it would.  I had planned for borders but when I laid it on my bed it is just the right size without borders.  I guess I will now try to get it laid out and tie it and then do the binding.

Here is a dark green infinity scarf I just finished.  It is so soft.

This is the sky looking south on Sat. evening.  I thought it was just so pretty.

Anniversary

Sorry to post so late in the day but we have had electrical problems in our home.  Our son Eric came over this evening and after 2 1/2 hours and lots of chasing wiring it came down to a loose wire in our dining room ceiling fan.  It just shut down part of a electrical circuit but not all of it. Anyway today is the anniversary of my blog.  It is 6 years today.  I will be having a giveaway and I request that you do not pass it around because I want a regular follower to win it.  It will be a surprise gift.  Just comment on this post and I will pick the winner on Sunday.  It sure does not seem like it could be 6 years.  Where does the time go?

Needle Keeper

I made this needle keeper from a piece I stitched a long time ago.  The fabric is from left over blocks from my Charming Star quilt that I need to finish putting together. It has purple felt inside to hold the needles.

First finishes for 2015

Here are my first finishes for 2015.  Lots of sit down time so I crocheted these 2 scarves.  This is just a straight scarf. This scarf is 1 row of double crochets and 1 row of triple crochets and I just repeated those 2 rows.

This is a soft infinity scarf in a shell pattern.  At times it looks more purple than burgundy.

I made this wall hanging this morning to hang where my monthly wall hangings hung.  I needed something different there.  I did the stitching a long time ago just because I love Violets and had no idea what I was going to do with it.  I love it there.
