I made this collar many years ago and forgot I had it. I did the blue tatting on it as well. I have not tatted in many years but really enjoyed doing it at the time. Tatting is a lost art and not a very easy one to learn. I can usually learn anything from a book but I had to take a class to learn to tat.
Cool! I don't think I ever saw that! :0)
ReplyDeleteVery nice where did you take classes I'd like to learn to tat!!
ReplyDeleteI beg to differ. Tatting is very much alive all over the world. It was never lost, maybe out of the limelight for a while, :-) and now, it is enjoying a great comeback.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I do admire stitchers who can produce lovely pieces with thread and needle. That is something that I have not been able to do well.
It's lovely! I love tatting and I have a friend in my quilt guild who does it. I remember my grandmother tatting around hankies. Now, whenever I see a hankie like that or with crocheting around it at a garage sale, I buy it. I am getting a collection of them.
ReplyDeleteI have never know what that is called, I learned something today! Your so busy and that tatting is so pretty!
