Stitching Finishes
I finished putting together the 5 ornaments I have been stitching for my swap group. They are simple to do, after the stitching is finished I trim them. I then cut felt the same size and then blanket stitch around them. These are the same patterns I used before but these are cut square not oval. Simple and easy plus low cost.

Not Much To Show
Not much going on right now in the sewing line but some stitching on some ornaments which I will show later.
Yesterday was a day at the doctor's getting all my meds set up and then shopping with my cousin.
The weather has been nice here and I have enjoyed having the windows open.
I have also done some reading.
Back to getting things finished tomorrow.

Another Christmas Gift Finished
This is a Christmas gift finished. The pattern is from a quilt pattern I won awhile back. It is from Words of Hope by Lyn Briggs. I changed the color and omitted the bible verse but I loved the saying and the heart design. I am sure the person getting it will love it.
This is a closer view of my stitching.

More Tatting
Here are 6 tatted necklaces I just finished putting together. I used ribbon for the necklace part so they will fit anyone. You could also put a chain where the ribbon goes. These are for the craft show in Oct.
Also 6 more pair of earrings which I have now packaged up for the craft show too. I remembered to take the picture before packaging them up this time. I have made some of these smaller. Not everyone likes large earrings.

Busy Birdbath and Anniversary Gift Finished
This afternoon the Sparrows and Wrens were really busy in my birdbath. There are only a few in these pictures but at one time there were at least a dozen in it. By the time I got the camera most of them were gone. Hubby filled it to the top about 2 hours before these pictures were taken. They love my birdbaths.

This is a anniversary gift I made for some friends of ours. I worked on the stitching a long time ago and did not know what I was going to do with it but it fits them well. There is a glare on this picture which I did not notice till I posted it. It is from the light coming through the window. Sorry it is not clearer.

Tatting Finishes and Humming Bird
Here are 7 pair of earrings that I have packaged for sale. I am getting ready for a craft show in Oct. The picture is blurry because of the plastic bags. The pair in the middle are white butterflies but they do not show up very well. Next time I will take the picture before I bag them up.
Here are 7 Bookmarks I finished too. The top 4 are on large paperclips. I have only made 1 with a flower but plan to do more.

Stitching Done
This is block 8 of Gail's free BOM. I have the sashing to put on but the stitching is finished.
I also just finished cutting off 4 pair of jeans to make my hubby shorts. He does not like the baggy shorts they sell in the stores. The cutting went okay because I made him try them on so I coud mark them the other day. It was the sewing that was a nightmare. I broke 2 needles which never happens and then I had to hand turn the machine over the seams because I did not have another jeans needle. At least they are done and he should be happy. I always cut both sides of the flat felt seam the length of the first half that I am turning up and leave the tip stick out so I only have 2 layers of seams to go through. I never have this much trouble. I am glad he does not have any more to cut off right now.

Flowers and A Beautiful Ornament
This is the Hibiscus a friend gave me last year. My new one this year has buds but they are not open yet. It is really beautiful this year.

This is an ornament I recieved in today's mail from the swap group I am in monthly. I think he did a beautiful job on it. The picture is a little fuzzy but you can get the idea of what it looks like. I just had to post it.

Stitching Done
This is my Block #8 of Verandah's Views. It is stitched but not trimmed or sashed. I have not decided on what fabric to use yet. Soon I hope.
I have been doing a lot of tatting lately and have sold some to several friends. I now have to get my tatted pieces into finished bookmarks and earrings. Tatting is an easy carry along to appointments where you will be waiting for the doctor or tests to be done.

Up date on my son Eric. He saw the doctor today as follow up to his motorcycle accident. He released him from the plastic boot but told him to be careful and to wear a lace up riding boot for more support. He is going out to get a pair. He could have pain and swelling for a few years because of the injury he had. Also a note to let you know he is wearing his helmet now.

Large Tree and Magic Lillies
This is a tree in our front yard. I have had many people comment on it so I thought I would show it to you. It is a Swamp White Oak we are told. This is the base of it. It does not look that big from this view but just look farther down the pictures.
This is the view of the top of the same tree. See the light pole to the left in both pictures.
This is the view from across the road in the neighbors front yard. See the big 2 story blue house? See the 2 vans on the left of the picture? The tree trimmers a few years ago said it was over 100 feet tall. It could be taller now. It has been through many a storm and still stands. If it ever goes down I sure hope it goes across the street and I do not want to be around when it hits the ground.
These are my Magic Lillies. I usually have a few but this year there is a large bunch of them. I think they are beautiful this year.

Tatting and Bottle Covers
This is another tatted butterfly paperclip which was suggested by Marit would make a great bookmark, so that is what I will call it. Thanks Marit for the idea.
Here are 5 tatted butterfly bookmarks which will be sold or used as gifts.
This is a more distant shot of the same bookmarks.
These are bottle covers I made for a friends son. He fills the bottle half full and freezes it. Then when it is time for work he fills it up and off he goes. He wanted something to help stop the sweating from the bottle. This is my solution to his problem. This is a very fat short bottle so I had to make up my pattern to fit it. I hope he likes them.

New Tatting Experiment and Flowers
I saw a pattern for a butterfly on a large regular shaped paperclip. I did not have a regular shaped one but I had this type I had bought for a different project. So out came the shuttle and the butterfly pattern I have been making from the start of tatting again. This is the result. It holds very tight to the clip. I was surprised.
These pictures were taken of my 2 Trumpet Vines. They are just starting to bloom. Some of their branches almost touch the ground. I love the orange color and the Humming Birds just love them too.
