Ear Warmer and More Snow

My DIL saw a pattern for ear warmers and showed it to me so I decided to make one.  Well it came out way to small so I added strings for tying it up and will donate it to the church bazaar in Nov.  I am trying out another pattern I found and it looks like it may be a good one.  I will let you know later how it comes out.  I used my Teddy to model it.

This is the side view to show the flower.

This poor cultivator has it's tall wheels almost covered in snow.  Hubby used the snow blower at 10:30 AM and said we had at least 5-6 inches of new snow and it has snowed all day.  Some times lightly and some times pretty heavy.  I sure wish spring would start coming our way.

10 Doll Quilts

I just finished 10 new doll quilts for the Giving Doll.  That is what has kept me busy some of this month.  I can almost see the faces of kids in need when they get these with a cloth doll and tote bag.  I really enjoy doing this.

Sewing and Bowling

Here is what I did with the extra blocks from my Charming Star Quilt.  I made a throw out of it.  I just tied it with a fuzzy blanket on the back, nothing inside.  I brought the blanket around to the front and zig-zagged it in place.

This is where it will hang for now.

I made this for a friend.  She said since she moved she could only find 1 needle. I am sure this will help her find more now because I put an assortment in it for her.  I had done the stitchery a long time ago.  I added a button to cover where the rick-rack comes together.

We bowled again tonight.  I did okay on the regular bowling but nothing special but on 100 pin I did very well.  5 strikes, a spare and then 6 strikes for a new high score.  That is 200 pins over my last new high score.  Sorry the picture is blurry but my camera does not like taking pictures of the TV.

Wii Bowling Last Night

We bowl on the Wii most every night.  Hubby usually beats me but on the 100 pin game I am in the lead.  Last night I got a new high score so I need to brag a little.  This 100 pin game is on the resort side of our game.  Sorry for the blurry pictures. This is the way the pins are laid out.  It is a long way down the lane to them.  Click on the picture for a better view.

My new high score.

This shows that it is for real.

Playing with Next Quilt

Here is the start of my next quilt from the sew along with Terry. I decided on just 2 fabrics and not scrappy. I also went with a 3 inch finished block rather than 2 inch. Terry made the change in my design by putting the blue block in the center of the snowball. I am loving it.  It will be a lap size quilt this time.

New Recipe

We had baked pork chops for supper so I tried a new recipe. It is corn casserole. 1 can of corn, 1 can of creamed corn. 1 box Jiffy Corn bread/muffin mix, and 1 stick melted butter. Mix together and pour into a 9" square pan that you sprayed with Pam. Bake at 350 deg. for 1 hour. It was so good.

This and That

I made another infinity scarf in navy blue.  They are simple to crochet and only take one ball of the yarn I use.

I put the zipper in this purchased tote for a friend.

Yesterday while going out to get our hair done these trees looked so pretty with their limbs covered in snow and the sun shining on them.  I had to take a picture.

7 more doll quilts for the Giving Doll.

This is the fabric I chose for my next quilt which is the snowball sew along with Terry.  There are a lot of ways to do this block but we changed it up a little.  I decided to use my Jo Ann's gift cards and go with just 2 fabrics.  These 2 called my name.  I know I will go back to making scrappy quilts but for this one I wanted just 2 fabrics.  There will be a lot of half square triangles too.  I can't wait to start it but I have a few other things I need to do first.

Charming Star Quilt

I just finished my Charming Star Quilt sew along with Terry.  I do need to make a label for it yet before I wash it.  That is my next project.  I have leftover star and 9 patch blocks which will become a throw for my rocking chair when I get around to it.  I did tie it and brought the backing to the front for the binding.  It is for me so that is the way I decided to do it.

Quilt Top

Here is my finished Charming Star Quilt top.  Somehow it came out bigger than I figured it would.  I had planned for borders but when I laid it on my bed it is just the right size without borders.  I guess I will now try to get it laid out and tie it and then do the binding.

Here is a dark green infinity scarf I just finished.  It is so soft.

This is the sky looking south on Sat. evening.  I thought it was just so pretty.
