Flowers

Here is what is blooming today. These Tulips have a feathered edge. I love them.

Alliums are always a surprise when they open.

Small old fashion Iris.

My Red Peony is ready to burst open, it has 9 buds this year.

This Bleeding Heart is in our compost pile.  It is huge, maybe 3 feet across.

Tomato plants in their pots with the cages ready to support them.  One is a grape tomato and the other is a normal sized tomato for sandwiches this summer.  They both have buds on them.

My Petunias this year are white and dark burgundy.  Hubby made the wheel barrow a few years ago and it is sitting where there was a pine tree stump.

My purple Columbine.

This was our old camping tea kettle.  It is now my planter sitting on a tree stump which was cut down last fall to make room for our storage barn.

Lilly of the Valley are growing like crazy any place hubby planted them.  They spread very fast.  But I love their smell and bloom.

A Finish, Hexies and New/Used Loveseat

This is the couch throw I made for my DIL Terri.  It is the project with the thick yarn and Q hook.  She decided this was as big as she wanted it because the yarn does not go far and is pricey.  I love the way it looks and it was different making it with the big hook.

These are some hexies that Terry got as a kit awhile back and I offered to do them for her because I love to do them.  It is relaxing for me to do hand work.  I am doing them by the paper piecing method, I printed and cutout the 60 pieces to do them on.  Not sure how she wants them put together yet but this is only half of them, there are 60 here. Not sure on centers yet either.

This was used by our son and when hubby's recliner died he offered this to us.  It replaces the recliner and a very uncomfortable old chair.  Makes the room look very different.  It will take some getting used to.  Both ends recline individually.

Little bit of Everything

First is the door hanging I just finished.

 A closer view.

Cardinal in  the bird bath.

I was playing with some leftover baby yarn last week and made this little baby dress.  More yarn used up.  It has 3 small buttons on the yoke in the back.

This is the cover I made for my new body pillow.  More fabric used.

My flowers on Mother's Day morning.

Bird and Flowering Tree

This morning I happened to see this Robin taking a bath in the birdbath.

This is the flowering tree by our front sidewalk.  Not sure what kind it is.

Close up of the flowers.

Another This and That

First of all besides the birds other critters use our birdbath as a watering hole. This is a momma calico cat who comes every morning and evening.  I like the outside cats that the neighbor feeds because they keep the mice population down.  She is very pretty but not to friendly.

These are the tomatoes and flowers we will be planting in our containers sometime this week.  I love the dark maroon we picked out this year to go with the white.

My pink tulips are doing better this year with the weather we are having.

I love my creeping phlox but I have a very hard time trying to keep the grass from growing in it as you can see.  If anyone has any solutions to getting rid of the grass please let me know.

My old fashion Primrose.

More Phlox with grass in them.

I do not know the name of this ground cover but it will grow where it is even with the black walnut tree near it.  That tree which is not ours has killed off a lot of my plants on that side of our home.

Look at all the buds on my Red Peony.

This is my new bed pal.  It is a body pillow and is suppose to help my shoulder and hip so I do not curl up so closely.  It seemed to help last night.  I will be making a cover for it soon.

A Lot of Things

My Christmas Cactus are in bloom now and have bloomed off and on since Halloween.  I think they are a little mixed up.  I have white and a yellow one.

Here is my latest finish, a white pineapple doily.

This year to my surprise I have blue and white Forget-Me -Knots.  Last year they were all blue.

This is a wild Violet that is white with a blue/purple center. The bloom is toward the bottom left side.  Click on it for a better view.  I could not get any closer because the yard there is very wet.

We have these wild Violets all over our yard.

This Tulip has a very fine red line at the edge of each petal.

Flowers and a New Crochet Project

These are the flowers in bloom that I have not shown you before. All white Daffodil.

Forget-me-knots.  These go wild in my flower beds.

Primrose in two different colors.

This is my red Peony and this year it looks like it will have 8 blooms.  It has gotten so much taller in the last week.

My back porch.

This is a comparison of the hook and yarn I normally use on the right and the hook and yarn I am going to use for a future project.  My DIL Terri bought the yarn and I am going to make something for her out of it.  The hook is a size Q and the yarn is extra bulky.  I have to check with her on design to be made before I can start it.  Stay tuned to see what it becomes.
