This and That

Sunset on our way home Sunday from Terry's.

Hubby was cleaning up the mess of acorns from our very large Oak tree.  This is the very end of the job.  He got 2 large trash cans full this time.  He had 10-- 5 gal. buckets the last time and there are more on the ground again.

Bottle cover I made for a friend.

I was gifted some yarn so I made this baby sweater and hat.  I do not know what I will be doing with them yet but I used the yarn.

This is a 2nd. set I made.

Birds, Acorns and Sweater

I have not seen too many birds lately but today they landed in the birdbath as a large flock.

We are having a bumper crop of acorns this year from our giant oak tree.  It has not had any for several years but boy are there a lot this year.  Look at the concrete sidewalk.  That is after hubby cleaned them all up a few days ago.  It is not safe to walk near that tree.  We have 2 more out back but they are smaller trees.

I saw this baby sweater pattern and wanted to see if I could figure it out.  I used yarn from my stash so I had to make a few changes.  I think it is cute as it is but it was suppose to have sleeves and be a little longer.  But over a long sleeved shirt I think it would work.  You work it from the neck down.  I did this in a few hours this afternoon so it is a quick pattern done in worsted yarn.  It just ties at the neck.

This and That

I baked my Christmas bread again yesterday.  I did Blueberry, Raisin and Cherry.  All but 1 loaf made it to the freezer.  Hubby had to taste the Cherry to let me know how it tasted.

Here are my 10 doll quilts for the Giving Doll for this month.   I set a goal for myself of 10 a month and so far this year I have made that goal.

A few years ago I made these crocheted tape measure covers and sold a lot of them.  A friend just ordered these 5 the other day.  I guess I better see if I can find more tape measures because I used all I had on hand and when people see these they may want one too.

I was looking for patterns to use up some of my #10 crochet thread and I found this bookmark pattern. I think it is so cute and had to try the pattern.  I am happy with the way it came out and it was easy.

Our Giant Oak tree out front has not had acorns on it for several years but this year they are bigger and a lot more of them.  Hubby raked up several 5 gallon buckets of them the other day and the yard is full again and they have not all fallen yet.  You have to be careful out in the yard that you do not get hit in the head with one.  We have a total of 3 Oak trees.  The ones on the left are from our tree and the ones on the right are from the neighbors tree.  Big difference in their size.

Wayne County Fair in Wooster OH

Here are the pictures we took at the fair.  Very picture heavy. This is a sign as you enter the fair.

Mini horses looking for a pet on the nose.

Cows napping.

The Black and white one has a very fluffy tail.

Bath time.

Sheep in their pens with coats on to keep them clean.

Tractors that are older.

Getting ready for the horse pull.

They had to pull this year on the racing track because of too much rain making mud on the normal pulling track which is in the background.  This team was just getting lined up.

Ready to hook.

Hooked and pulling.  They add blocks to this sled after each team has pulled the distance.  Then they pull again and add more blocks till no team can pull it.

One plant display.

Quilts and other needle works.

Garden art.  Can you see the fish in this birds mouth?

Wooden projects.

This is one BIG snow plow.  I sure hope we do not need it this winter.
