Decorating done for Christmas 2012

Hubby did all the outside decorating  and helped with a lot of the inside stuff too. Click to see larger picture.

Our home sits level.  I must have been leaning when I took this picture.

Inside decorations.

I put gold wired ribbon on my tree this year for a garland and just love it.  We have a thin tree and I used 4 rolls of 9' each.  Mostly all home made ornaments that I made or had given to me.   I will take up close pictures of some of them later and post them.

My favorite Christmas tree is my button tree Terry made for me many years ago.  It sits on my scanner all year long.

Cactus and Some Sewing

My Christmas Cactus are in bloom.  I have one that is yellow and one that is white.  All my other ones have died over the years.  Click picture for a closer look.

Last week I tried to get back to sewing and got these strips sewn together.  Did not get any farther.

Today I managed to get it sewn into this tote bag for a friend for Christmas.  I really have been out of the sewing mood for awhile now.  Hopefully I will get back to do more soon.

The Barn

More on the barn.  They were talking about how they were going to wire the barn.

The barn was suppose to be spray painted today but the paint was so thick it would not go through the sprayer.  It was the same pain that our son used 4 gal. of to paint his barn.  Not sure why it was so thick.  Anyway they decided to brush the grooves and roll the rest.  Son and hubby at work.

Finished painting until spring when I will paint the trim.  Now it looks like it belongs to our property.

New Storage Barn

Yesterday was the delivery day for our new barn.  It is 10'x18'.  The truck arrived at 7 AM.  This load is 2 barns.  They were headed out to put up a 2nd one when they left here.  There are a lot of pictures.  Click on them for a larger view.

This is 1 hour and 40 minutes later.  There were 3 guys working on it but it would have taken hubby and son a lot longer to build it from a kit or scratch.  The walls were already built on the truck.  Son decided this was the way to go.  Now to get it wired for lights and some shelves built so we can transfer all our stuff from a old shed we have been using to this one.  If we can get some good weather maybe we can even get a coat of paint on it before winter really sets in.

Book Read

I just finished this book that Terry had read and it was very good.  The title is a Season for Tending if you can't read the title in the picture.

Just waiting for our storage barn to arrive sometime the week of the 12th.  Then it will be time to wire it and build shelves.  Then the big task of moving everything from the old shed to our new barn.  Glad to have kids and grand kids to help.
