Under the Weather

Sorry for no posts but I came down with Shingles on Wed. I saw the doctor Thur. and she put me on meds, so maybe it will not get as bad as I have had it in the past. The first time was 15 years ago. I hope this is a short bought because I have things to do.

Flicker

These are 2 pictures of a Flicker. It is a member of the Woodpecker family I think. I have seen it before but never could get a picture of it. I was lucky this morning.

Flowers and Flowerbeds

This is the view from the front sidewalk. Things have really grown fast.

View of front and side yard.

First Peonie.

Rain on the Bleeding Heart leaves. I thought this looked very neat.

Baby Squirrels

I knew we were going to have a lot of baby squirrels because the adults were hauling dried leaves up the tree for several weeks now. I saw 1 baby gray squirrel last week but could not get a picture. This morning they all came down to play. I am still waiting for the black squirrels to appear. We have both colors.
This baby is sitting on the butt of a branch that was cut off because it was dead.
Can you see him? You will have to excuse the bad pictures but they are from my living room window and got a reflection from something.

I caught this one just as it was racing back up the tree.

This one was digging in the grass for something. They do a good job of digging in my flower beds too.

In this picture there is one baby at the base of the tree and another one on the left side just about out of the picture.

Baby Robin's Come To Birdbath

My baby Robin's finally came to my birdbath. I had not seen much of them since they left the nest but this morning they came for a drink and a bath. They do not have all their color yet.

More Birds

I love watching the birds as they visit my birdbath for a drink or splashing bath. This is one of the many Robin's we have in our yard.

This is a Catbird and the first time I ever saw them was last year. I had 2 at the birdbath yesterday but did not get the camera fast enough to get both of them in the picture.

This is also a Catbird sitting on my cultivator in my flowerbed. They fly very quickly and it is very hard to get a picture of them sitting still.
This is a male Cardinal and he visits often. Sometimes the female is with him.

Stitching But No Finished Projects

This is a butterfly I stitch which I will make into an ornament for the swap group I am in. I have seen some stitchings colored so I tried it but I should have colored it before adding the Wisper Weft and stitching it. It has a textured finish since I colored it last. It will be okay but I learned from my mistakes.

This cup of Violets, I loved the pattern but I am not sure what gift I will put it in yet. The picture has a shadow at the top but it is not on the stitching.

This is the May #5 BOM block from Gail Pan. I do not have the borders on it yet but it is stitched.

No Pictures Today

I have been doing some spring house cleaning for the last couple of days. I took down all my sheer curtains and washed them. While they were down I washed the windows on the inside and then re-hung the sheers. I could not believe how dirty they were till I saw the wash water. YUCK! I am ashamed at how dirty they were. We do live in front of a feed elevator (mill) that grinds feed everyday and that is dusty. We also have a lot of tractor traffic and other traffic on our small town road. It did make me feel good that that much of my house is now clean.

Maybe tonight I can get some stitching done.

Flowers and Hummingbird

More of my flowers in bloom. They are doing very well this spring. This is the Clematis I showed you when it only had 1 blossom.

I love this yellow Iris. It is so bright and cheery.
These are Alliums I think.

This is a very fat Hummingbird on my feeder in front of my purple Iris.

Iris In Bloom

These are 2 different Iris. My daughter Terry took a picture of one of her Iris from above so that is the second picture of each Iris. It gives you a completely different view of them.

Humming Birds

You can see the dark green Humming Bird sitting on the branch, if you look down and to the left you will see another one facing you. It blends in to the wood on the trailer behind it so look close. This is the first time I have seen them light on the branches of the Trumpet Vine. They spent about half an hour off and on sitting there. I just love them. Pictures are from my living room window.

This Humming Bird came back later alone.

First Clematis of The Season

This is my first bloom on my early Clematis. I just love the color of this one. We had to move it and another one a couple of years ago because the neighbor's Black Walnut tree was killing everything in the flowerbed by our porch. Not too may plants can live near one of these trees because they put out a poison from their roots.

Great giveaway at Tattered Threads & Willing Hands.

More Birdbath Visitor's

This bird had just left the birdbath. I have seen it for the last few days but it never got close enough to my window to get its picture till this morning. It is a White Crowned Sparrow. It has a large white stripe on its head.

This is a Gold Finch and he will be in the next picture too. They feed at the neighbors but seldom visit the bird bath.

A female Cardnial and the Gold Finch share the bird bath for a drink.

The male Cardnial visited later.

I have had some different visitors this year and hope to see many more. Since I am inside they are not scared off by any movements inside. I just have to remember to turn off the flash. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I do.

Mother's Day Gifts

I got this hanging basket from my daughter Terry and her family on Sat. morning. The second picture shows the plant I got from my son Eric and his wife Chris on Sunday. I love both of them. They will help brighten my yard.

Momma Robin Feeding Babies

I got this shot of the Momma Robin feeding her 3 babies. I took it from the ground looking up but you can still see a babies head if you look close.

Happy Mother's Day

I want to wish all the Mother's out there a very Happy Mothers Day. I really love the cards from this site.

Baby Robins

These are the 3 baby Robins in my nest on the tower connected to our mobile home. My grandson Brian was up today and climbed up to see if the babies had left the nest yet and this is what he found. The picture is taken from above the nest looking down at the babies. There heads are pointing toward the bottom of the picture. I know it will not be too long before they do leave the nest.

More Spring Flowers

I was outside yesterday before the rain and took these pictures. These are Primrose. I got the red ones from my mom years ago. The yellow ones I bought a few years ago.

This is my long bed beside the sidewalk. The blue you see are Forget-me-knots and the red and yellow are Tulips. This bed has 2 birdbaths in it and birdhouses on the fence posts. The birds love them.
This is more of my Creeping Phlox by my antique cultivator.

This is a flowering tree on the tree lawn by the road. I do not know what kind it is but I love the flowers and it has dark red berries in the fall and winter.

These are some of the Lilacs in my yard. It is a very old plant and does not have many blooms but I still love it.
