Mini Hats

A friend saw my doilies and ask if the jar topper could be made into a small hat for her Mother Daughter banquet.  It would be hard to do that but I looked through my patterns and found 2 small hat patterns.  I am just waiting for her to let me know if either one will work for what she wants.  Which one do you like?  They are about 3 inches across and 1 inch high.  The pink one is the simplest one as far as I am concerned.  It has my vote but that does not count for much.

Busy Hands

I am keeping my hands very busy lately.  These doilies work up fairly quickly and I am using up my supplies.  Many will be donated to the church but some will be gifts and I might try to sell some of them.  I have a good sized stack right now.  This pink one is a new patter I found yesterday on line.  It was not hard to follow.

This one takes about an hour to make.

This is also a new pattern for me.  It finished 4 rows smaller than it is.  I added the last 4 rows because it looked like it needed it.  Shell are an easy kind of row to add.  I like this blue thread.

This and that

I found new things to put on my birthday gift table topper.  The dish is a gold Iris and Herringbone dish with fake apples.  I like the way the gold goes with the topper.

This is row 1 and 2 of the Wiggly Whimsy sew along with Terry.  It will have white sashing between the rows.  As simple as this pattern is I always seem to put a row or two in wrong and have to take it out.  Maybe next month I will get row 3 done with no un-sewing.  I do love the pattern because there are no corner matching.  It sews up really quick.

Two more doily/jar toppers.  These work up in just over an hour.  A very simple pattern and it was free.

Snow/Spring and Crocheting

Woke up this morning to more snow but it has almost all melted by now but there is more to come tonight.

This is part of yesterdays crocheting.  Two small doilies which emptied 2 more spools of thread.

This emptied another spool of thread.  It is an ivory white.  The ruffled one may end up as a jar lid.

This is what I did today and I love this lavender color and the shell stitches go  fairly quickly.

Busy Hands

I have been busy using up some of my Grandma's thread again. This is a turquoise color thread jar cover.  The ribbon holds it onto the ring so you can remove the lid without undoing the bow.

This jar cover and doily are the same pattern. It makes a ruffled doily.  They are a brighter thread than it looks.  See the next picture for a better look at the real color.

This is a small bottle cap hot pad.  It is a truer color to the rust color in the picture above.

This and That

This will be a heavy in pictures post. Here are two jar covers I made.  I really like this pattern.

Two more jar covers and a bright pink small doily.  I like this doily pattern too.

Two off white doilies.  Both are about 5 inches across.

This was the sunrise yesterday morning.  Just as the sun was coming above the trees.

A green variegated pineapple doily from my grandma's thread.

I found a home for my table topper.  On my kitchen table with my mushroom battery operated votive light.

Two more doilies and a battery operated votive holder.

Small green variegated doily.

I have used up and emptied 8 spools of #10 knit-cro-sheen since I started making doilies.  None were full balls but some were pretty close to full.  That is a big dent in my stash and I have lots of doilies to give as gifts or donate to our church bazaar.

Thank You

First I want to thank all those who wished me a Happy Birthday.  It was a big surprise when I went to my blog but before that I had many wishes in my e-mail too.  It was a wonderful day but cold.  This is the Little Twister Table Topper Terry gave me for my Birthday yesterday.  I love it.

We have many birthdays in March and Terry's was March 8th.  We try to get together once for all the birthdays in any month with more than 1 birthday.  This is what we gave her.  It was all the material she needs to make a wall hanging for herself.  She does such a nice job of quilting things I just figured I would add one more project to her pile.  I love this panel myself so I knew she would love it too.

More Crocheting

I finished 3 small doilies and a jar cover yesterday.  I used up the rest of my lavender thread with these 2 lavender doilies.

Spring is Coming and a Doily

My Crocus are trying to bloom but today was very cloudy and they just would not open.  This will be a white with purple veins when it opens.

These are purple.  I did have nice clumps of Crocus but our friendly squirrels Have moved them to a lot of different places.  So I have small clumps now.

This is the last doily I did.  It is a 10 1/2 inch done in lavender.  You can see the pattern better with the plain thread.  I love this pattern very much and it is very easy to follow.

Saturday's Crocheting and Time Change

Here are the 2 doilies I crocheted yesterday.  They work up very quickly. This one is peach and about 5 inches across.

I love pineapple doilies and this one came out great.  It is 10 1/2 inches across and I love it. This picture looks blurry in places but it is just the way the thread changes colors.

Our time jumped ahead an hour last night so we lost an hours sleep.  The only good part is our evenings will have an extra hour of daylight. I know I will miss that hour tonight.  Can spring be far behind this change?

A Win and Crocheting

I won a giveaway from Jane.  This lovely pin cushion.  Thanks Jane I love it.

This is a small doily I made from the last of my grandma's gray thread.

This was the first of the gray thread I used.  It is the same color as the one above but the light was not good.  I love working with thread I knew my Grandma had.

This was a little tricky to crochet.  But I got it finished and it is a pretty light yellow.

More of grandma's thread.  It is about 5" across.

My shoulder is getting a little better so maybe some sewing will happen soon.

Today's Finishes

I finished this lavender pineapple pincushion this morning.  I am happy with the way it turned out even if I had to change the border on it.

This pink doily is about 8 inches across.  It is a very simple pattern to follow.  I am sure it will be a gift sometime.

Coming home from hubby's VA appointment the sun had just gone behind the clouds and I took this out the side window.

This was the view out the front windshield.  It was a cold but sunny day most of the afternoon.  Spring has to be coming soon.

This Weeks Crocheting

I made this doily this week and it will probably be a gift sometime later.  It worked up in about 9 hours.  It is 12 inches across.

This is a pin cushion I made yesterday and finished today.  It is stuffed with batting with fiber fill in the center.  It could also be used as a sachet.
