Accident

This morning my son-in-law had an accident at work. Go to my daughter Terry's blog and you can read what she posted too. He had a bulldozer roll over and crush his leg and they had to take it off below the knee. I know it could have been a lot worse but this is going to be bad enough. Please keep them in your prayers. If you go to her site let her know you are out there for her. Thanks.

Great Granddaughter

This is Addison my Great Grandaughter. She will be 3 months old tomorrow. Her mom sent me some pictures today. Addison's Great Aunt Terry also has some pictures on her blog.

Apple Tote and Dishcloth

This is a tote I made the other day. I had done the stitching awhile ago but just got it into a tote. I think I will try to sell it at the craft show.

A watering can dishcloth. I love to try new patterns. I do not think I have made 2 alike except the red apples.

Sunrise

These were taken yesterday morning through the trees across the street. They were a lot nicer in person.

Ornament and 2 Dish Cloths

I needed to make an ornament for my swap group that was sparkly. I decided to crochet a wreath on a plastic ring and and the sparkle to it. I had no pattern, I just played with it. I had these shinny stars on my stuff. I like the way it came out. Sorry the picture is a little blurry.

Another dish cloth and this one has 9 hearts on it.
Red heart dish cloth. One more for the craft show.

Breads and Birds

I make friendship breads to give away for Christmas gifts. This is the second baking for this year. I have 20 loaves of pineapple bread in the freezer and here are 20 loaves of banana bread I did this morning, plus 2 loaves in the regular pans. I wrap them in Saran Wrap and tape them shut and freeze them. I give 3 different flavors in a gift bag with a handmade ornament and hand made card on it as a gift. Everyone loves the gift. I use the Friendship recipe I got a long time ago. If you are interested in the recipe just e-mail me and I will send it to you. I could not get it to upload or I would have put it here.

This was the sight out my livingroom window today. At one point you could not see the water for all the birds in the birdbath.

Second Apple and Cat Dish Cloths

I made a second apple dish cloth with the right size needles and it is a lot smaller than the first one. I did the first one on #8 needles because some one misplaced my #7's. I do not know who that could be, do you? A friend lent me her #7's and they made the dish cloth the size it should be. I could not believe how much different 1 size in needles makes.

This is another dish cloth and this one has a cat in the middle. It will be a Christmas gift.

Wayne County Fair Day

This is the view of the morning fog on our way to the fair, taken from the passenger seat of our van. I love the fog when it is not on the roads. It was just laying in the fields.

These pictures are in the Home and Flower building. I love these quilts.

These quilts were in the Grange building. They are older quilts.

I collect old green glass jars and these were displayed very nicely so I could not resist taking a picture of them. They are also in the Grange building.

Amish Horse Races

We watched the harness races today at the fair and they also had these Amish Buggy races too. Amish are allowed to do this type of thing before they join the church, from what I have heard. Thay had larger wheels on their buggys. They did not look like a buggy but more like a cart or sulky that the harness racers use.

This is the announcers booth for things going on at the grandstands during the fair. Today is the last day.

Apple Dish Cloth and Puffballs

This is an apple pattern dish cloth I saw on Dawn's blog and you can get it here .
I was so excited about it that I went out and got the cotton yarn and did it up. I know several people who collect apples for their kitchens. I had it with me to show a friend at my Stretch class this morning and several people ask if I was going to sell them. I guess I did a okay job. Thanks Dawn for getting me back to some knitting.

This is a Puffball Mushroom that is growing in our yard. We have had them in the past but this is the first one this year. It is larger around than a basketball. It is a very strange site.

Sat. Clouds and Flowers

Sat. morning coming back from having blood drawn the sky was beautiful and I just had to take these pictures plus a few more through the van windshield. I loved how they looked against the bright blue sky.

Today I took these 2 pictures of my flowers. This Hydrangia was in a pot and in bloom this spring as a gift and we planted it in the ground and it surprised me today with this smaller bloom. I did not think it would do anything this year.

These are some Mums we planted 2 years ago and they are coming up each year. We did not know if they would or not because most of them did not come back.

No Post

I did not get a Sept. 11 post out because I was under the weather and did not get on my computer. But I thought of them all day long.

I am feeling better today and trying to catch up with things. Should be back tomorrow with some pictures.

No Company

Our company are not coming because their truck broke down in Michigan. They will be here the week of the 21st. instead. So I have been sewing.

Finished

This is my Gail Pan free BOM with all 9 blocks sashed and sewn together. I had not decided how to finish it yet.

This is my Gail Pan finished. I tied it and then put the binding on. I did not have enough fabric to do anything else. but I am very happy with the way it came out. I am not a quilter so some of my sewing is not as perfect as someone else's might be but I am pleased. Thanks to Gail for the designs, it has been so much fun doing them.

Last Gail Pan Block

This is the last Gail Pan free BOM. I still have to sash and put them together but that will have to wait till next week after my company goes home. I am sure we will be too busy for the next week for me to get any sewing done. We always have a busy week and lots of good times.

Tatting and Tote

I just finished these 5 tatted paperclip bookmarks. I like the idea of the paperclip. It is just something different.

This stitching is from the free First Friday Freebie from Kaaren. I decided to put it in a tote instead of a wall hanging. I really like the way it came out.

I may not post much for the next week because we have company from Michigan coming. I will try to get on some time but do not know when.

More Tatted Bookmarks

I have been selling some of my bookmarks to a friend who is leaving for Arizona soon, so I had to make more for the craft show in Oct. I had tatted the butterflies over a few days but I put them together today and added them to my supply. I have found a few new colors in my stash of thread and tried them out. What do you think? Which are your favorites?

First Sept. Finish

This is my first finish for Sept. I have company coming and wanted to get Ellie's BOM finished and hung. I got the design this morning and got busy. I did not want to be a month behind. They are very simple to stitch and I just love all of her designs. The quilt below it is the one my daughter Terry gave me in a PIF. I will use it to keep warm this winter but for now it looks great on my youth chair with Brownie sitting on it.
