Good Book and Flowers

This is another good book a friend lent me.

Coral Bells are just a year old and have a very fine tiny bloom.

White Peony is just starting to bloom but the blooms are a lot smaller this year. I think it is from all the rain we have had.

My first Orange Poppy opened yesterday.

Happy Memorial Day

I just want to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Memorial Day. We need to remember all those who have served our country and are still serving so we can have our freedom.

Thanks to all of them.

Blue Iris, Rainbow and Good Book

I have been waiting for this Blue Iris to open. It is one of my favorites.

This is the bed most of my Iris are in. It is full of color right now.

There was a double rainbow last night but it was very pale. You can just see it above the trees. In this picture the higher one has faded. If you click on the picture it will be a little easier to see.

In this picture you can just see the higher rainbow and the lower one is behind the trees. Click it for a better view.

I just finished this book from a friend and it was great.

Hummer and Flowers

This morning I looked out and a Humming bird was sitting on the hook that holds the feeder. I did not get the camera fast enough the first time it was there but I had it ready when it came back. This is taken through my livingroom window.

This was another time it landed there.

This is a smaller yellow Iris that opened up.

This is a larger lighter yellow Iris that also just opened up.

This is a view of the flower bed most of my Iris are in. It is beautiful right now if the rain does not beat it down today. So far it is okay with all the storms we have had.

Last Night's Leftovers

This is the water level at the back of our shed. I have never seen it that high up before. We had 1 3/4 inches of rain in a few hours time.

Looking back toward the grain Elevator building from our shed.

Same view but closer up.

Looking south to our neighbors flower beds and the field beyond.

More Flowers Last Night

These were in bloom last evening when I was out side. This is the Red Peony Bush I have been talking about.

Closer and better shot of the Red Peony in full bloom.

This is a double Lavendar Petunia we planted in containers.

This is called a double Pink Petunia also in a container.

Zipper Bag and Flowers

This is a zipper bag I made to go with my new purse that I posted in my last post. It holds lots of things to keep them organized in one place.

What is in bloom right now in my flower beds.

This is my new purse/bag. It is smaller than my messenger bag but not small by any means. I like large purses. It has a front flap, zipper pocket on the outside under the flap and 2 open pockets inside plus a hook for my keys. I made the inside pockets different sizes because one is for my cell phone. I just need to find a piece of cardboard to cover to firm up the bottom. I love it.

Sunglass Case and Blooms

I made this sun glass case to match my messenger bag. It looks very big for the sun glasses but they do not lay very flat and needed the width so they were not forced into it.

These are blooming at my house now.

Hummers, Rain and Hail Storm

My hummers are back. These pictures are blurry because they are taken through a rain soaked window. They were feeding during a hard rain, thunder, lightening and hail storm we had this afternoon.

This is just some of the hail we had this afternoon and over an inch of heavy rain, lightening and thunder came with it. We had just gotten the groceries unloaded when it all let loose.

Bath Time and a Bag

It was bath time for the robins yesterday between the rain storms. One was in the bird bath and the other one was waiting.

This is a pattern I bought to make a purse. I like roomy purses but this is way to big for even me. It is a messenger bag. It will be great to take things to the Rec. Center for my exercise class. I will cut the pattern down later to make me a purse because I like the looks of it.

This is the inside. It has a large zipper pocket and two open pockets. It also has a covered foam core bottom on the inside. It is made of pre-quilted fabric I had in my stash. I like the way it came out.

A Win and Plants

This is a pattern I won from Paula, it came in today's mail. It makes up at 26 inches square and is done with paper piecing. The paper is with the pattern but the pieces are going to be pretty small to work with. It is in my to do pile. Thank Paula.

Our 2 tomato plants. One is a Sweet Million and the other is a Better Bush. We have no room for a garden but they do well in these pots.

My Chives are in bloom. I do not use them but love the smell and the flowers.

Lilly of the Valley are growing well in the north yard.

This is a Red Peony that a friend gave me. It is really thriving this year with 8 buds on it.

Blooms on our tree out front.

Our tree out front.

One of our many squirrels eating something. We have gray and black ones.
