Last night's Soup and Quilt News

Here is last night's Meatball Soup.  I used frozen meatballs (thawed)  and 6 cans of vegetables.  Put in crock pot with a little water  and beef broth I cooked it on high for 6 hours.  Boy was it good.

Quilt news is that it is pinned and will be tied as soon as I can get to it.  I can't wait to finish it but I am having a little hand issue after all the pinning.

Birthday Pillow and Quilt Flimsy

Here is the pillow Terry made me for my birthday on the 17th.  The love seat is not that color brown, it is dark brown.  I have no idea why it looks that color.

It is a flimsy and a good sized one too.  It is for a double bed but it is the biggest I have put that many pieces in.  I will now shop for the backing and insides.  Since I am going to tie it I am looking for a blanket for the insides. That way it will hold together better when it is washed.

Quilt and Things

Here are the last of my blocks for my bed quilt.  Terry and Emily helped me decide where the blocks should lay in it.  I will be sewing it this weekend I hope.

Crazy calico kitten on top of my picket fence.  She is a neighbors kitten and lives outside.

Sunrise this morning.

About 2 hours later this is what we have and it is still snowing.  They say it will get up to 55 degrees this afternoon.  Crazy Ohio weather and this is the first full day of spring.

Thirteen More Blocks

Here are the 13 blocks I just finished for my bed quilt.  It is a scrappy 9 patch.  I have some blocks that I just had enough fabric to make one block and then some that I could make more than one.  Can't wait to get the rest finished so I can get it laid out and figure out the sashing and corner stones.

Ten More Blocks

I finished 10 more blocks for my 9 patch bed quilt.  I also use the last of these dark colors.  I am cleaning out my scraps of my stash.  This will be a scrappy 9 Patch as far as all the dark colors go.  The tan will be in all the blocks.

This was yesterday morning.  Beautiful sunrise and it got to 61 degrees here.

First sign of spring in my flower bed.

I have 15 blocks made for my bed quilt.

This morning started out with rain before 5:30 AM.  Then just after 10 AM it turned to snow and all afternoon it has snowed and been super windy.  What a difference a day makes in Ohio this time of year.

New Quilt

I am going to make a new quilt for my bed.  It will be a 9 patch with different dark fabrics and all the same light tan fabrics.  It will also have sashing and maybe corner stones.  It may take awhile but I got it started today.  My first 4 blocks.  I need to press the rows and sew them together yet.  Then I can start cutting another dark fabric.

Today's Sewing

Here is another bottle cover I was ask to make.  I have sold a lot of these because of the handle.

This is another camo pillowcase I made for a little guy who likes camo.  It will be a gift later this summer.

Terry

I want to wish my daughter Terry a very Happy Birthday.  She is a really great daughter.  She loves lighthouses.  She also loves to sew and make quilted projects.

Just a Little Pincushion

Here is a pincushion I made this morning from a few of my leftover scraps.  It has a plain white back on it with a button in the center too.

Playing with leftovers

Today I was playing with some of the leftovers pieces of my Goodnight Irene quilt.  This is what I came up with.  The tiny triangles at the end of the white square are what was cut off the X square in that quilt.  I squared them off at 1 1/2 inches.  Pretty tiny to work with.  I am happy with how it came out.

Goodnight Irene

Here is my finished Goodnight Irene quilt from Terry's sew along.  I like the way it came out.  I tied mine and used a pieced binding.
