Yard Sale Finds and Hosta

These are the things I found at the small town yard sales yesterday. A puzzle, 2 books and a pair of green glass candle holders. If you did not know I collect light green glass. I have well over 100 pieces so far. None of which cost me much money. Mostly from yard sales and flea markets.

I love to read Debbie Macomber.

The book Sarah's Son is a follow up to the book Sarah that I read some time ago. Sarah was a very interesting book and so far so is Sarah's Son. I would recommend them to any one to read.

This is my first Hosta to bloom.

Flowers and Storm Yesterday

I am on my hubby's part of the computer because Blogger works here and not on my part.

Here are a few more of my summer flowers. Enjoy

This is the storm we had yesterday. It dumped 1 1/2 inches of rain in about 20 minutes. We also had bad lightning and thunder along with heavy winds. We never get puddles in this spot during a normal rain.

Blogger Issues

I think it is something with my computer because my daughter can log on to my blog and it is fine.  I am having issues with the new version too.  If I do not comment it is because I do not get a word to verify.  My son and daughter will try to figure it out on the 4th of July when they are here.  Till then I am following your blogs every day but like I said I can't comment.

This is my ground cover rose.

Help

Blogger is not letting me add photos and nothing but font shows up when I am composing a post on the task bar at the top. It will also not give me a verification word to leave comments on someones blog. This has never happened to me before and I have no idea what to do about it. Any ideas what to do or do I just have to wait for Blogger to correct itself? Thanks for any help.

Comforter For A Special Friend

This is a lap size comforter I made for a special friend. She does not get around very well so I hope this will keep her warm as she sits in her chair. She will not need it right now because it is summer here but I wanted to do something special for her. I do not make quilts because they need to be more accurate than my hands will allow. I also tie my comforters because I do not hand or machine quilt anymore. But they are made with lots of love. I still need to make a label for it and I will do that later today.

Start of a Quilt and High Water

This is the fabric I am going to use for a quilt for a very good friend. I had the print and bought the blue to go with it. I will be starting it soon I hope.

This is a closer look at the fabric. What do you think of it?

We were at our daughter Terry's on Wed. and the bottom land near her home has usually been planted by now. It does flood when we get a lot of rain which we have lately. I have seen a lot more water here before. This location is called Funk Bottom by the locals. These are 2 Herons I think. One in flight and one wading at the bottom of the picture. Click to enlarge it so you can see it better.

This is another Heron wading and looking for food.

A larger view of all the water. Terry lives down the road to the right from the white factory in the left of this picture.

There is a well in the far top of the water that is usually on dry land.

Just a different view of the high water.

Flowers

Shirley's flowers across the street. This is another double Poppy.

These are single Poppies of the same kind.

This is her white rose bush.

My flowers. This Clematis was moved to my son's last year and back here this spring and it is now in bloom. This is the first one and it is smaller than it used to be but I am sure it will bloom larger next year.

This is the bloom on my Hosta.

My day Lily.

This is my Honey Suckle Vine. Boy does it smell good.

I do not know what these purple flowers are but they are pretty.

This is the same flower with my Sun Drops.

Wet Wedding Day

My son Eric married Terri yesterday in the rain. She and her daughter Bek moved here from Australia in April. They wed on the deck under a canopy and large umbrella. It rained most of the day.

The wedding in the rain.

Eric is a Harley rider thus the sign his school friend Karen had made.

Baby Found

My son was mowing his front yard (in the country) and found this fawn laying in the tall grass near the Forsythia bushes. Momma came back a few hours later and they went across the road and through the neighbors yard to the woods. He said it was very wobbly when it got up to follow its momma. It could not be too old.

Neighbors Flower and Mine, Plus Sidewalks

I was out taking pictures last night and got these of my neighbors flowers. This is a double Poppy, but I do not remember what kind it is. It is not like my Poppies.

Now pictures of her beautiful Roses.

Hubby and I worked on edging our sidewalk out to where we park today and I did not get a before picture but this is the after. We gained 4 inches in width after removing the grass that grew along the sides. I also used salt on the cracks to kill the roots that were left after the grass was shoveled away. What a difference it makes. Now we have a few more areas to do but only a little at a time. We are too old to do it all at one time.

These pictures were taken last night before the storms came through. This is my pink Peony.

These are my Sundrops, Common Geranium and I do not know what the dark purple ones are.

This Rose cam from the next one you will see and they are nothing alike. This one is red and double. It came from the roots of my ground cover rose in the next picture.

My Ground Cover Single Pink Rose.
